Buds to Blooms – introducing our NEW card pack!

Our new Buds to Blooms collection just got even better with the addition of our Cut & Craft Card Pack! The pack has been designed to work beautifully with our Magic Windows – Circle and Decorative Tabs die sets, and there are enough sheets to make 20 stunning Magic Windows cards!

The artwork has been printed for us in the UK by a local printer. The texture and details of my original watercolours have been retained through the printing and I’m thrilled with the print quality – and silk finish of the card!

We wanted to make the Cut & Craft Card Pack available to our customers because it allows you to instantly be able to cut and craft Magic Windows cards. That said, I’ve used it to make some lovely cards that aren’t Magic Windows! I’ve also been using our DVD patterned papers and free envelope template download to make matching envelopes for these cards . . . but I have been known to get carried away when it comes to card making!

I’ve taken a snapshot of the focal point sheets. There are four of each of these sheets in the pack.  The designs are hand-drawn watercolours and include a peony, dahlia, anemone, rose and a bouquet. You can use them like the layout suggests or mix and match different elements from the sheets.

Inside the pack you’ll find helpful instructions for how to use the sheets to cut the Magic Windows pieces.

The first image shows how the pieces look when cut. I positioned two 12mm strips of double-sided tape behind the donut area before die-cutting, to make it self-adhesive. After attaching the decorative tab, you can lightly rub the surfaces with a tumble dryer sheet as this really helps the pieces to glide smoothly!

Connecting the two Magic Windows pieces together is always my favourite bit! Slot the tab through the back of the cut curve in the ‘Circle Slider’ piece and move the tab as far right as it will go. You can then tuck each of the 6 sections into each of the slots below. It will create a star shape when finished. You can then place the panel face-down and attach the self-adhesive ‘Donut’ over the central hole. Fold in the arms of the die-cut brad and insert it from back to front through the centre.

Pull the arms out as far as they will go and attach a small piece of 3mm double-sided tape. The circular topper is then attached over the top. I’ve chosen the dahlia centre here but there are several greetings to choose from too. Add 3mm double-sided tape around the edges of the panel and add a piece to the back of the brad – this will prevent the brad from spinning when the Magic Windows slide.

Next you can choose which of the gorgeous patterns you like to use for your card base! Even better, the template is printed on the back of each of the sheets, so you don’t need to worry about tedious measuring and cutting! Yay!

After scoring and folding the tab edge, attach one of the sheets of white card with double-sided tape. This will make the card back. Simply trim away the excess white card, fasten your Magic Windows panel to your card…and then see the bud transform into a beautiful flower in bloom, with the slide of a tab!

I hope you enjoy crafting with our new Cut & Craft Card Pack and Buds to Blooms collection. Please stop by again for more inspiration.

Happy crafting!

Angela
