Die Cutting

Creativation 2020 – craft secrets revealed!

We're having a fantastic time at Creativation and it's so great to meet other crafters who love paper crafts as much as we do! I wanted to create some makes for our stand that were bright and bold to reflect how positive we feel about 2020. I went with a colour palette that scared me a little at first (I think we all tend to have favourite crafting colour combos that feel safe!). Well I was definitely out of that...

Secret photo lockets with our Pretty Poinsettias!

Our Pretty Poinsettia Twist & Reveal die set is packed with 15 incredible dies but it also holds a secret that you wouldn't guess from looking at the dies alone . . . and it's that you can make fold out photo lockets for the flower centres! The nesting pentagon dies can be used to die-cut frames and there's a small hinge for connecting the locket pieces! Personally, I can't wait to try cutting the hinge out of mirror...

Twist & Reveal – Pretty Poinsettias!

We're finally able to reveal our brand new Pretty Poinsettia Twist & Reveal die-set! It's such an incredible die-set as it enables you to make your own 5-petal poinsettias/flowers which SPIN 360 degrees on your cards AND when you pull the petals, they twist and open to reveal a hidden surprise inside! I've been adding photos and hidden greetings inside many of my poinsettias and I'm having soooo much fun crafting with them! There's also a co-ordinating A5 photopolymer stamp...

You can also attach the Flutterings Butterflies or Hummingbirds to...

Flutterings stencil technique using spray inks!

The decorative borders from our new Flutterings die sets took some time to design, mainly because they're just so intricate, but it was totally worth it because the finished sets are absolutely stunning! As well as using them to cut a decorative edge into an A5 card, or trimming them to make border strips, you can also use them as stencils. I wanted to share an exciting technique with you that I discovered whilst experimenting with spray inks! Of course,...

Colour layering peony stamps!

The more I'm playing with our Perfect Peonies stamp set, the more I love it! I keep finding new ways to use it and it's such fun experimenting with different ink combinations. Our photopolymer stamp layers are made with the added bonus of a little notch which marks the top of the stamp colour layer – so no more rotating a stamp around and around to see which way up it goes! I wanted to share with you how the colour...

Fay’s simple Autumn stamping!

So...my first project for Angela Poole! Very exciting and a massive honour. I hope this card shows just how effective keeping things simple can be.     Firstly, I used the Magic Windows Slide & Reveal die set to cut out the main images from the Christmas Wonderland and Winter Days stamp sets. Both images were coloured using just two colours of brush pens.      I inked around the edges of the reindeer image with Distress Oxide Gathered Twigs, and once I had constructed...
