Trisha’s Fab Father’s Day Card!

Trisha’s Fab Father’s Day Card!

Hi fellow crafters,

I hope you are well! I wanted to share with you all how to make this Father’s Day card using the Nature’s Texture stamps and stencils.

For this card I used the Nature’s Textures Hexagon Layering Stamp & Stencil set.

I made this card using a 5”x7” Kraft card blank. Taking a white piece of card, I cut it slightly shorter than 5”x7” so I could mount it onto the Kraft card once I had stamped my design.

There are some lovely hexagon stamps in this set, I first chose the script design. I lined this up in the top right hand corner of the white card. I then stamped it with a dark blue ink pad. Using a similar-sized hexagon die to the stamp, I lined half of this up under the script-stamped hexagon. I traced around half of the die before placing the stencil over the half-hexagon shape, securing it with masking tape. If you don’t have a hexagon die, you could lightly trace around the hexagon stamps with a pencil, or just go by eye!

Using a turquoise ink pad and dauber, I dabbed the ink through the hexagon stencil. In the collection of stamps, there is a fabric hexagon design. On the left hand side of the stencilled image, I stamped the fabric design stamp in a light brown/beige ink.

Underneath the previous line of two hexagons, I traced around my hexagon die with a pencil. I did this twice, making two hexagons next to each other.  I then stamped the script hexagon stamp inside one hexagon shape, before masking off the other. I then used the stencil with the turquoise ink again to finish off.

Underneath this I drew a half hexagon shape on the far right-hand side, and two more hexagon shapes next to it. In the first one I stamped the hexagon script stamp, then the fabric design, then I used the stencil again on the half-hexagon shape on the right. Don’t forget after each line to use a small, thin eraser to rub out the pencil marks around each hexagon!

You can find two lovely FREE Father’s Day downloads on the website here: www.angelapoole.co.uk – I’ve used the Magic Windows design for my card, but there are also quotes you can print. I printed off the first page of the download (with the sentiments) and cut out the bottom tag ‘Sending lots of love’. I also cut out another sentiment from the download which said ‘Love you Dad’.

I made a hole through the top of the tag, and threaded some baker’s twine through the hole before tying a knot at one end.

I added three small foam pads and put a little bit of tacky glue on the top of the foam pads, which allows for temporary movement if you place it in the wrong position.  To finish, I attached some buttons to the three stencilled hexagon designs, and attached the ‘Love you Dad’ sentiment. I then mounted the card on to the 5”x7” Kraft card blank.

I hope you love this card as much as I do, and that you’ll try this for a Father’s Day card of your own! The free downloads give you so many possibilities for making personal and unique Father’s Day cards 🙂

Best wishes,

Trisha x
